Abstract
The effect of humic acid on the ionic form distribution and the activity of lead and cadmium in pond sediment was discussed in this paper.The results showd that the content of carbonate-bound,Fe-Mn oxides bound,and residual form of lead and cadmium was declined with the addition of fulvic acid,but the content of organic and,dissoluble form was increased at the same time,indicating that the humic acid promoted the other forms to transfer to the organic form.As the increase of concentration of fulvic acid,the content of dissoluble lead and cadmium in the sediment was also increased,but the effect of the humic acid was opposite.This indicated that fulvic acid could enhance the activity of lead and cadmium in the sediment,while humic acid could inactivate the activity of the metals.
