Application of Parks Conjunctival Incision Combined with Surface Anesthesia in Strabismus Surgery

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of application of Parks conjunctival incision combined with surface anesthesia in strabismus surgery.Methods 136 patients were selected with this surgery.Eye drops of 0.4% Oxybuprocaine was applied 3 times before operation,and then Parks conjunctival incision was made.The effects of anesthesia was evaluated,and the complications in and after operation was observed.Results For the effect of anesthesia,98(72.05%) patients were classified into grade I,38(27.95%) patients were into grade II,no patients were into grade III.All the patients had normal appearance and no complications for the operated eyes,including conjunctival hyperemia,conjunctival cyst,conjunctival scar,etc.Conclusion This method might be safe,easy,and fast one applied to strabismus surgery.
