Abstract

Qiangdui copper deposit is a porphyry-skarn complex copper(molybdenum) deposit located at the copper(molybdenum) deposit-concentrated Lahange-Cuibaizi area in the central east Gangdise porphyry copper(molybdenum) ore belt. The host rock is granitic porphyry and quartz porphyry which are wholly mineralized. The skarn copper(molybdenum) deposit occurs at the contact zone of the porphyry and limestone of Cretaceous Menzhong Formation. Our study reveals that the ore-bearing porphyry exposed at surface is only the apophyses and intense erosion did not take place thus the main porphyry are still at depth and it is potential for discovering big porphyry deposit to depth.
