Clinical observation on the therapeutic effect of Qiliqiangxin capsule on 42 cases of chronic contractive heart failure

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Qiliqiangxin capsule combined with western medicine on moderate and severe chronic contractive heart failure(CHF).Methods 42 patients with CHF in control group were treated with ACEI, uretica, small dose of beta-blocker tablet (The patients with cardiac function IV grade didn't take it until heart failure was controlled),small dose of digoxin. The 42 patients in observation group,on the basis of control group,were treated by Qiliqiangxin capsule,four pills once,three times a day.The therapeutic effects were observed and compared after two-week treatment in the two groups.Results After two-week treatment,the total effective rate of cardiac function improvement, total effective rate of improvement of TCM symptoms and increasing rate of left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) in observation group were 92.9%,95.2%,(25±4)% respectively,but which in control group were 76.2%,81.0%,(11±3)% respectively.There was a significant difference between the two groups (P0.05 or P0.01).The side effects were not found in both groups.Conclusion In the treatment of moderate and severe chronic contractive heart failure,Qiliqiangxin capsule combined with western medicine,could improve cardiac function effectively, alleviate clinical symptoms and increase LVEF,with safety.
