Shortage of Mineral Resources and Establishment of Mineral Resource Strategy System in China

China is serious short of mineral resources as a result of rapid economic development. Therefore China should examine his strategy system of mineral resource exploiting and use over again and establish new mineral resource development strategy on the basis of present situation of mineral resources in China and abroad. In order to alleviate the shortage, next measures should be taken: 1) build up stainable and safe and economic and pluralistic providing system of mineral resources; 2) improve energy structure and cleaning and high-efficiently use energy mineral resources; 3) protect and rationally use groundwater; 4) promote harmonious development of mining and environmental protection; 5) strategically store up important kinds of mineral resources.
