Classification System of Vegetation of Wetlands in Gansu Province

The main vegetation types of the wetlands in Gansu province and their classification were systematically studied in this paper. According to the plant formation, vegetation development and distribution characteristics of the vegetation of the wetlands in Gansu province, the vegetation of the wetlands was divided into 4vegetation type groups, 9 vegetation types, 74 formations and 138 associations. Due to the character-plants, indicator plants of the wetlands and the definition of vegetation of the wetlands, the questions on whether keep the vegetations of river bank and forest edge within the vegetation of the wetlands or not with the view of ecology were further discussed. The main results showed that Formation Populus euphratica was on the list of formations of the vegetation of the wetlands according to the plant habitat and community characteristic.
