Abstract
The idea of seismic design based on structural performance has been adopted in many codes, but is not put into practice popularly because of the limit of the analysis method. In this paper, three criterions about assumption rationality were supposed to judge the result of pushover analysis.A real structure was analyzed by pushover method with ETABS,and the structural performance under moderate and severe earthquake were obtained.Compared with the structural seismic performance predefined, the structural design was modified. The application of pushover analysis in seismic performance design was investigated, which was proved to be valuable in practice.
