Heavy Metal Contamination of Urban Soils in China:State and Prospect

As the urban population continues to grow, more and more attention has been given to the influence of heavy meta1 pollution of urban soils on urban eco-environment and human health. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the progress of the study on pollutant source,chemical configuration, content distribution and ecology effects of heavy metal pollution in urban soils in China, on the base of list of heavy metal contents in urban soils from different cities.Potential areas of future development in heavy metal pollution of urban soils is identified.
