Determination on the Content of Total Alkaloids in Uygur Medicine Nitraria

Abstract

Objective To study the contents of total alkaloids in different organs from Uygur medicine Nitraria. Methods Total alkaloids in Nitraria was extracted by acid-base and the content of total alkaloids was determined by the acidic dye colorimetry. Results The content of total alkaloids in N.sibirica Pall had a distinct difference in different organs:in Leaves it is 0.570%,in Fruits it is 0.022%,in Immature fruits is 0.004%;and the content of total alkaloids in Leaves of N.tangutorum Bobr is 0.024%,in Fruits it is 0.021%,and in Immature fruits it is 0.019%. Conclusion The content of total alkaloids in Nitraria Leaves is highest, higher in Fruits, lowest in immature fruits.
