Abstract
Objective To investigate the cytological features of the cerebrospinal fluid in the culture positive tuberculous meningitis(TBM).Methods The cytological features of 37 cases of culture positive TBM were evaluated through the dynamic observation by using the cerebrospinal fluid sediment chamber method. Results The total number of leucocytes was increased in cerebrospinal fluid of TBM patients. The granulocytes were increased obviously and the mixed cell reactions were observed in the all stage. Conclusion The cerebrospinal fluid of the patients with culture proved TBM features by the obvious increase of white cells number with a majority of lymphocytes and a minority of granulocytes.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
