Abstract

Objective To investigate the implication of c-reactive protein and serum precursor protein in the prognosis of the old community-acquired pneumonia. Methods 109 old community-acquired pneumonia were retrospectively analyzed with 40 non-hospitalized patients with CAP at the same period for the control group.According to prognosis, patients were divided into improved groups(A group)and referral group(B group). The prognosis of different groups were compared by statistical analysis. The CRP and PA in serum concentration of each group was recorded at the first 1 day,7 days. Results Compared with the control group, the PA of the patients with CAP group reduced significantly, while CRP significantly increased, the difference was significant(P0.01);In CAP patients, compared with the transferred, the PA of improved group significantly reduced,CRP was significantly increased, the difference was significant(P0.01).Conclusions CRP and PA dynamic monitoring for evaluating the prognosis in old CAP has an important clinical significance.
