Abstract
Objective To investigate the change of MCP-1 in brain tissues and peripheral blood mononuclear cells in patients with intractable epilepsy. Methods With neuroelectrophysiology technique, epileptic focus were located in operation in 27 patients with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy, the expression of MCP-1 were measured by immunohistochemistry and Western blot; peripheral blood mononuclear cells were measured on admission day. Results Theexpression of MCP-1 in epileptic focus were higher than that in control tissues. Levels of peripheral blood mononuclear cells were higher than that in control group. Conclusion The expression of MCP-1 were significantly increased in epileptic focus.MCP-1 may regulate the levels of mononuclear cells during the procedure of epilepsy.
