A study on physico-chemical properties of the volatile oil in Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam

Objective: To study the composition of volatile oil in Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam and its physico chemical nature. Methods: Technology of chemistry, physical parameter, TLC, UV spectrophotometry were applied to determine its qualitative analysis. Results: In Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. volatile oil contains unsaturated compounds, such as phenols, aldehydes, lactones etc. UV and the TLC of volatile oil showed obvious feature. Conclusion: Methad of chemistry, TLC and the table law of ultraviolet light can be used as control indexes of inner quality of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. This methad is simple and convenient, reappearance good.
