Abstract

The image compression is dealt with based on the vector quantification.Its technique of the codebook generation is expounded.The present typical LBG algorithm is summarized and analyzed.In addition an improved covering clustering algorithm reducing the complexity and runtime of the application is proposed according to the limits of the LBG algorithm.The theory and result prove its feasibility and efficiency of the algorithm.
