On the Two Subjects in the History of Qu

Que Ming's Wuguiji is a legend based on the subject matter of Dou Yujun who had five sons and all his sons had high position because he provided money and help for poor people. Although the unabridged version of Wuguiji were not handed down,many dramatic pieces with different names were included in the opera anthologies of the Late Ming Dynasty. Investigating the contents and names of Wuguiji in the existing 14 kinds of opera anthologies of the Late Ming Dynasty,it is proved that Wuguiji,Zuipanji,Dengkeji and Wuzhiji belong to one work. According to Cao Rong's Jingtidang Ci,the current researchers are unanimous that Wu Qi of the Qing Dynasty had his own family troupe,which is proved to be a wrong interpretation of Cao Rong's two pieces of ci Moyuer by current scholars through investigating the related literature.
