Survey of Population Urbanization in China

Urbanization is of great importance in the process of social and economic development in a state. The urbanization in China is entering a new era in the 21st Century. With the improvement of the rural productivity, the quick step of industrialization and the development of industrial structure, the condition is ripe to promote the urbanization from all sides. We should not only study the common law of urbanization process in the world and draw lessons from the international experience, but also consider the current situation and basic problems faced by the urbanization in China and form a rational system of cities and towns, thus to find out a way for the cities of various scales to develop coordinately in China. It is also the request of building a well-off society in an all-round way to promote urbanization actively and to implement the strategy of urbanization suitable for sustainable development.
