Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the application of capsular tension ring(CTR) implantation during phacoemulsification for traumatic subluxated lens.METHODS Twenty cases(20 eyes) of traumatic lens subluxation with implanting CTR combined continues curvilinear capsulorhexis(CCC),phacoemulsification and posterior chamber intraocular lens(IOL) implantation were reviewed.RESULTS Twenty cases(20 eyes) of lens subluxation were subjected to ultrasound biomicroscopy(UBM) for determining the lens ligament detachment, which was 45°-135°.Preoperative corrected visual acuity(VA) ranged from light perception(LP) to 0.5.The preoperative intraocular pressure(IOP) was 10-29mmHg,mean IOP was 18.6 mmHg.CTR was implanted after continues curvilinear capsulorhexis(CCC),phacoemulsification and posterior chamber intraocular lens(IOL) implantation for all patients.Postoperative corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and anterior chamber depth were significantly improved. The IOL in all cases were in the normal position without tilting or decentration. There were no special complications of CTR.CONCLUSIONS The CTR implantation during phacoemulsification is a safe and effective method for traumatic subluxated lens.It can prevent the IOL decentration and decrease the complications.
