An Initial Discussion of the Teaching of Words and Expressions of the Intermediate Chinese Language

The teaching of words and expressions of the int ermediate Chinese lan guage is an important link in Chinese teaching as a foreign language,having a vi tal bearing on whether foreign learners can accurately understand and correctly use the language.At the intermediate stage of teaching Chinese words and express ions,the teacher should help his／her learners to have a profound command of lex ical meanings and to expand their vocabutary power,by means of using effective m ethods of teaching and explaining the meaning of lexical items in a proper way,a nd meanwhile he or she should make it clear to learners that there are correspon dences between and among lexical items of different languages,but among them is also there a certain degree of inequality in value of words and expressions,and so learners have to try their best to avoid their mother tongues interference
