Abstract
The flame propagation and its acceleration mechanism in gas explosion were studied. An investigation of overpressure development due to flame acceleration induced by obstacles has also been studied. The results show that the obstacle plays a significant role on the flame propagation and overpressure development in pipeline. When there are barriers, the velocity of f1ame transmission increases very quickly, which results in high increase of the overpressure. The mechanism of acceleration is to the positive feedback of turbulent combustion caused by obstacles.
