Abstract
This paper analyzes the relationship between urbanization and urban- rural income gap based on provincial panel data of six provinces in the central China from the year 1981 to 2012. The result shows that urban- rural income gap in the central China is not along with the advancement of urbanization and narrow. Therefore,the government should accelerate the reform of agricultural industrialization,to break the system of the urban and rural production factors flow constraints,to accelerate urban-rural household registration system reform,gradually to advance the urbanization of rural residents enjoy the achievement of socialism.
