Abstract

OBJECTIVE To detect the extended spectrum β-lactamases(ESBLs) and AmpC β-lactamases of Enterobacter cloacae in our Department of Laboratory Medicine of Tongji Hospital to help using drug in clinic. METHODS The 121 strains of E.cloacae in our hospital were collected from Jan 2007 to Dec 2007 and their ESBLs and AmpC β-lactamases were detected by improved three-dimensional test. RESULTS In 121 strains of E.cloacae, there were 56 strains producing ESBLs(46.3%),35 strains producing ApmC β-lactamases(28.9%),and 18 strains producing both AmpC and ESBLs β-lactamases(14.9%),and 9 strains producing neither AmpC or ESBLs β-lactamases(7.4%),respectively.Antibiotics susceptibility test showed that the resistant rate to cefotaxime, cefepime, ciprofloxacin and imipenem was 53.8%,24.4%,32.5% and 0,respectively.The resistant rate to ampicillin and cefazoline was 96.7% and 94.2%. CONCLUSIONS The most of E.cloacae strains produce ESBLs in our hospital and their susceptibility rate to carbapenems.amikacin, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin and cefepime are high, but to others are very low.
