Abstract
In a MoSi2 furnace at 1350℃,the effects of desiliconization time and desiliconization flux composition on desiliconization were studied. The change of oxygen potential in ferromanganese was also researched during desiliconization treatment. When different composition flux are used and desiliconization time is suitable, about 73.7%~87.9%silicon in blast furnace ferromanganese can be moved into slag. The optimum desiliconization time is 10 to 15 min.The oxygen potential in ferromanganese melt is reached to a certain value about 5 min. Then the oxygen potential changes only in a narrow range. The standard solubility Gibbs Free-Energy of oxygen in manganese is measured at 1350℃ by Mn-MnO2 equilibrium experiment.
