Analysis of Cancer Incidence and Mortality from Registrative Data in 2008 in Sheyang County,Jiangsu Province

[Purpose] To analyze the quality of cancer registration and to explore the incidence and mortality of cancer in Sheyang county.[Methods] According to the registrative data in Sheyang county in 2008,the quality of cancer registration was analyzed and the crude incidence and mortality rate,China and world standardized incidence and mortality rate were calculated.[Results] The crude incidence rate of cancer was 219.50/105,and the China and world standardized incidence rate was 111.91/105 and 146.21/105 respectively.The crude mortality rate of cancer was 211.15/105,and the China and world standardized mortality rate was 108.93/105 and 144.24/105 respectively.The top 5 cancers with incidence and mortality were gastric,esophageal,lung,liver and intestinal cancers.The missed report events still existed.[Conclusion] The prevention and treatment in Sheyang county should focus on the digestive system cancer such as gastric cancer,esophageal cancer.At the same time,the quality of cancer registration should be further strengthened.
