Abstract

Objective To investigate the difference and synergetic effects between Scopolamine and Atropine on depressing the gastric peristalsis in rats. Methods To divide the rats into five groups at random,including the group of normal saline(Ns);neostigmine metheylsulfate(Ne);neostigmine metheylsulfate + Atropine(Ne+At);neostigmine metheylsulfate + Scopolamine(Ne+Sc) and neostigmine metheylsulfate + Atropine + Scopolamine(Ne+At+Sc).Each group consisted of 12 rats.Conducting mice small intestine carbon powder propulsion test experiment,and observing the positive or negative effect on SIP of rats caused by drugs of the four groups. Results 1)There was no significant difference in percentage of the rat's SIP between the group of(49.82±3.48)eostigmine metheylsulfate injection with Atropine and(53.27±11.61)neostigmine metheylsulfate injection with Scopolamine(P0.05).2)The group combining Scopolamine with Atropine(33.65±3.03)had a considerable reduction in percentage in comparison with the group applying Atropine or Scopolamine individually(P0.01 and P0.05). Conclusions Scopolamine and Atropine have synergetic effect on depressing gastrointestinal motility.
