Abstract

Discusses relative fire research methods and principles for building materials, typical foam insulation materials are tested by using the test methods given in the current Chinese classification system and European harmonization classification system for burning behavior of building materials respectively. Research results from the two classification systems mentioned above are compared carefully, Parameters such as heat release rate (HRR), fire growth rate index (FIGRA) and total heat release (THR) based on oxygen consumption principle are outputted as test results to evaluate the fire performance of foam insulation materials.
