Chinese Enterprises' Foreign Direct Investment:A Literature Review and Prospect

Abstract

The phenomenal growth of China's outward foreign direct investment (FDI) has intrigued many researchers. This article revisits the existing theories of outward FDI by Chinese firms,and discusses the motivation and paths of FDI by Chinese enterprises and the influence imposed by the government. The article also examines the rationale of outward FDI by Chinese firms and indicates the direction for future development of FDI theories.
