Abstract
In order to further research on the application of DX piles in bridge foundation,a static load test on the DX piles and straight piles of a bridge were conducted.Combined with the multiple measuring methods,the ultimate bearing capacity of the DX piles was determined.By monitoring the stress gauges,the axial forces of the piles were detected,so that the friction resistances,the bell resistances and the pile tip resistances were analyzed,and the load transfer mechanism of DX piles was also analysed.The results indicate that(1) the bearing capacity and settlement of DX piles are obviously superior to those of straight piles in the same pile diameter and length;(2) the bells shared a lot of load and their resistances developed from the top to bottom,so the axial force reduced greatly when it reached the pile tip.This lode transfer mechanism not only can improve bearing capacity greatly,but also can effectively control settlement,increase bearing capacity per cubic concrete,and make engineering more economic,energy saving and environmental friendly.
