Abstract
The volatile and semi-volatile organic acids in cigarettes were extracted with a dichloromethane-acetonitrile(1 ∶2,by volume) mixture solvent by accelerated solvent extraction(ASE),then derivatized with NO-bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide.The GC-MS/SIM method for simultaneous determination of 26 organic acids, including formic acid, acetic acid, lactic acid, benzoic acid, hexadecanoic acid, octadecanoic acid etc.,was developped by using trans-2-hexenoic acid and cinnamic acid as dual internal standards. The recoveries of the method ranged from 81%to 106%with RSDs of 1.73%-7.08%.The limits of detection ranged from 0.1 to 13.72 μg/g.The contents of volatile and semi-volatile organic acids in some tobacco samples were determined using this method.
