Abstract

Carbon black dispersion with excellent stability is prepared with a self-made branched styrene-maleic anhydride polymer (BPSMA)as dispersant. The effects of grinding time,BPSMA concentration and pH value on properties of carbon black dispersion are investigated. The application performance of carbon black dispersion to cotton printing is also researched. The results show that the optimal dispersion with particle size 159.3 nm is obtained under the condition of grinding time 2 h,BPSMA 15%,and pH value 10.The K/S value and the rubbing fastness of the printed fabric with above dispersion are higher than those with linear styrene-maleic anhydride polymer.
