A Survey of Medicinal Plant Resource in Ceheng County of Guizhou Province

Abstract

Medicinal plant resource in Ceheng County were investigated and studied, through field visits, specimen collection, data collection and textual research, and specimen identification. 165 families of medicinal vascular belonging to 572 genera and more than 949 species were found in Ceheng County. Based on TCM theory, folk medicine and clinical drug, 18 categories were divided according to their medicinal function. There were 36 species of new medicinal resources including seven protected medicinal plants in Ceheng County. Proposals were made for sustainable development of herbal resources in the county.
