Abstract
Taking Chengjiaqiao Town in Shapingba District,Chongqing as a study area,this paper adopted the current land use database,re-modified the classification of land use,and created six landscape pattern maps relying on the spatial analysis and graphics processing of ArcGis8.3 and ArcView3.2 software.Individual landscape metrics were calculated by function of Fragstats3.3 software.Landscape metrics is seen as a bridge between ecological process and land use,thus the paper analyzed and explored characteristics of landscape pattern resulting from land use.The result indicated that in the study area,the paddy land landscape was dominant landscape types.They were landscape matrix and the main location of human activities,and controlled landscape patterns and their evolvements too.Winter water-stored paddy field landscape element is closely approach to background of paddy land landscape.Moreover,their patch number and area were raised along with the distance of river's buffer zone by Buffer analysis.The patches of dry land landscape element distributed erratically in dry land landscape.Rural settlement landscape element was dominant in the construct land landscape.Their patches are simple,trim,and conform.
