Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of morphine combined with 5-fluouracil(5-Fu) on the expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax in MCF-7 breast cancer cells. Methods After being treated by morphine combined with 5-Fu for 48 h,the expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax in MCF-7 breast cancer cells were detected by Western Blot. Results The expression of Bcl-2 was the strongest in the untreated group, and was decreased by 250 μmol/L and 1 250 μmol/L of morphine and 500 μmol/L of 5-Fu,and was decreased along with the increasing of morphine by the combination of morphine and 5-Fu.The expression of Bax was the weakest in the untreated group, and was increased by 250 μmol/L and 1 250 μmol/L of morphine and 500 μmol/L of 5-Fu,and was increased along with the increasing of morphine by the combination of morphine and 5-Fu.The synergisms were found in all the 3 groups. Conclusions Morphine in certain concentration,5-Fu and the combination of the two had the down-regulating effects on Bcl-2 expression and up-regulating effects on Bax expression in MCF-7 breast cancer cells, and in a certain dose dependent manner.Synergisms were shown in the combination of morphine and 5-Fu.
