Abstract

The soil water content in afforested land and the hydrological physiological character of Ulmus pumila seedlings were studied. The results showed that because of long-time drought, the soil water content fell below 7.24%,the natural water content of Ulmus pumila was 64.13%,the ratio of bound water and free water was 1.33,and the water shortage under natural saturation was 10.06%.The water-retaining capacity curve slope of Ulmus pumila was small relatively. The PV curve showed that Ψπ100 and Ψπ0 of Ulmus pumila was 7.97 Mpa.The daily process change of transpiration rate showed that midday depression of Ulmus pumila was obvious.
