Abstract
A novel composite electrode which have functions of synthesi zing H 2O 2 and photocatalysis was reported. This double function composite electrode was prepared by loading photocatalyst TiO 2/C on a novel carrier which can synthesize H 2O 2. When photo-tractor worked, photo-catalytic reaction took place on the surface of the TiO 2/C, O 2 was reduced and H 2O 2 was produced on the gas-liquid-solid interfaces of carrier, current efficiency could reach 82% (i=15mA/cm 2), and also the potential of reduction of O 2 by 2e made TiO 2 obtain about +0.5v anodic bias (vs. flatband potential ) which is very important to improving photo-catalytic activity of TiO 2. The experiment results showed that the oxidation rate of azo dye was related to the loading amount of TiO 2. The current density and pH value in solution had effect on the synthesizing rate of H 2O 2 using air (oxygen) electrode.
