Clinical study of temporary conjunctival flap in the treatment of fungal corneal ulcer

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of temporary conjunctival flap treating fungal corneal ulcer.Methods Fifty-one cases(51 eyes) with fungal corneal ulcer were treated with temporary conjunctival flap implantation,the follow up time was 6 months after operation.Results Of 51 cases in this group,49 cases were cured and treatment failure occurred in 2 cases,the cure rate was 96.08%.The average healing time was(14.10 ± 4.81)days.Corneal neovascularization occurred in 2 cases(4.08%).The postoperative uncorrected visual acuity was ≥0.3 in 19 cases(37.25%),0.02～ 0.1 in 21 cases,the permanent loss of vision in 2 cases of treatment failure,the visual acuity impoved to various extent in the rest.Conclusion Temporary conjunctival flap could promote fungal corneal ulcer healing,and corneal neovascularization was less,but in serious cases,the efficacy is not ideal.
