Abstract

On a 4102 turbo-charged diesel engine tested the performance of compound combustion, which is composed of two modes of the combustion occurring in diesel engine, the one mode adopts conventional diffusion combustion using diesel fuel at low load and starting as warming up periods and the other one utilizes Quasi-HCCI(homogenous charge compression ignition)formed by ethanol mixture combined with diesel fuel at other operating conditions. The results show that NO_x and the consumption of the fuel reduce remarkably.
