Birds and Animal Fauna in Huangguanshan Nature Reserve of Shaanxi

160 bird species and 71 mammals species has been found in Huangguanshan Nature Reserve,of which 17 species are China endemic species,35 species are protection animals of national emphasis and 16 species liable to extinction.Among the 157 kinds of breeding birds,there are 57 kinds of Oriental realm species,35 kinds of Palaearctic realm species and 65 kinds of cosmopolitan species;As to mammals,there are 35 kinds of Oriental realm species,23 kinds of Palaearctic realm species and 13 kinds of cosmopolitan species.The percentage of southern fauna is higher than that of northern.The richness and abundance of species diversity changed with the variation of elevation and habitats.According to the vegetation and sea level division three zones,from low to high with three zones of several species of birds than to 1:0.9:0.4,the mammals was 1:0.7:0.4.Based on the evaluation,we suggest the reserve is important for animals and more measure should be taken in the area.
