The Change of Political Culture and Political Development in Contemporary China

Abstract

Political culture has significant impact on the process of political development because it can shape political behaviors of political men and political systems. With the development and progress of Chinese society, there appears the situation of the changes of Chinese political culture. This situation is mainly demonstrated by: (1) that political cognitiveness tends to be comprehensive and profound; (2) that political attitude tends to be rational and objective; (3) that political affection tends to be independent and moderate; and (4) that political beliefs tends to be simultaneously unitary-dominant and polynary-co-existant. The changes of modern political culture can promote political system to be democratic, liberal and transparent, and promote the protection mechanism for civil rights, and promote rule of law in China, so as to enhance the political development in China.
