Abstract

The failure mode of soil-cement material, the bearing and deformation characteristics such as the pile-soil load share ratio, the pile-soil stress ratio, and the deformation in the deep soil between the piles of rammed soil cement pile composite foundation are measured by the indoor model tests. The effective pile length or the effective composite soil thickness of rammed soil-cement pile composite foundation with the given pile strength is provided in the test conditions in this paper. The effect of the pile strength on its bearing capacity should be considered for the design of the rammed soil-cement pile composite foundation. The pile design should be based on the control of the pile body strength and the bearing capacity of single pile determined by the pile strength should be greater than that provided by the soil surrounding the pile and pile end soil.
