Abstract

Forests constitute both a sink and a source of atmospheric CO2.Forest management can restrain the increasing rate of CO2 in atmospheriy and can promote the maintenance and absorption of forest carbon and increase forest carbon storage. In this paper the role and effect of various forest management practices on forest carbon sequestration was analyzed.Based on the current status of national forest resources in China, some measures and suggestions on how to strengthen forest management and increase forest carbon sequestration were put forward.
