On the Landscape of Folk Culture in West Guangdong and Poetry Writing in the Tang and Song Dynasties

From the perspective of cultural landscape in cultural geography,this paper demonstrates the colorful and diverse cultural landscape in West Guangdong during the Tang and Song dynasties,summarizes the diet,dress,customs and other characteristics,and further explores how much influence the landscape of folk culture in West Guangdong has exerted on poetry writing in the Tang and Song dynasties.The landscape of folk culture enriched the life of poets,who toured around West Guangdong and used its elements such as diets,dress,customs and habits as the themes to write many poems with local characteristics.These works not only exhibit artistic value to a great extent but also play a vital role in helping to understand the culture of West Guangdong in the Tang and Song dynasties.
