Abstract

Objective To study the curative effects of molar teeth in elderly people after using resinifying therapy.Method 78 teeth from 76 elderly and 80 teeth from 79 young patients were reexamined, which received root canal treatment, variation root canal treatment(rough canal:root canal treatment;fine canal:resinifying therapy) or resinifying therapy 2 years ago.The curative effects were evaluated based on clinical examination and radiographic assessment using periapical index(PAI).Results There were no statistically significant differences for the overall healing rates between the first two groups(P0.05).Statistically significant differences were found for the overall healing rates between the first group and the last group(P0.05).Conclusion The long-term curative effects of resinifying therapy on teeth with chronic apical periodontitis in elderly people were positive.Using different treatments according to root morphology in elderly molar teeth was reasonable.
