Abstract

Objective:To study the effect of Fufangshexiang injection on thickness change of retinal nerve fiber layer after optic nerve injury in rats.Methods:24 healthy SD rats were divided into normal group,model group,and therapy group.The experimental model of optic nerve injury was established by crushing optic nerve 2mm retrobulbarly in rats of model group and therapy group.Immediately after the model was established,the rats in therapy group were given Fufangshexiang injection intraperitoneally for 30 days.And the rats in normal group and model group were given isometrical distilled water.8 eyeballs were removed to be examined pathologically for the thickness change of retinal nerve fiber layer 30 days after optic nerve injury in each group.Results:The retinal nerve fiber layer in the model group was thinner than in the normal group(P0.05);And the retinal nerve fiber layer in therapy group was thicker than in the model group(P0.05) 30 days later.Conclusion:Fufangshexiang injection can effectively protect the retinal nerve fiber layer of rats from atrophy after optic nerve injury.
