Abstract

Effects of salicylic acid(SA)on germination of seeds and growth of seedlings of pea were studied,The results showed that, treated with 10-40 mg/L of SA,the germination energy and percentage were promoted by 12% and 10%;Treated with 40 mg/L of SA,the seedlings were remarkably increased 1.20 to 1.32 times in fresh and dry weigh than the control,Treated with 20 mg/L of SA,the respiratory rate of germinnationnal seeds and the root activity of seddlings were remarkably increased than the control,Treated by above 60 mg/L of SA,the conductivity was increased to 128% of ck,and some relevant indexes were lower than ck,at the same time, the growth of seedlings were inhibited. The experiments proved that thongh treatment with 40 mg/L of SA conld improve absorption of N and K,it wasn't appropriate to absorption of P from seedlings of pea.
