Abstract
The goal of higher vocational English teaching is to cultivate students’ comprehensive professional English language competence.At present an important step in higher vocational college English teaching reform is to achieve the effective cohesion of general English teaching and professional English teaching.Based on the analysis of the current English teaching practice and characteristics in the art vocational college,the paper discusses the necessity and feasibility of the English curriculum mode of general English teaching plus professional English teaching.It further explores the significance and application of project-based teaching and proposes the 4A English teaching mode.
