Abstract
The great mass of conventional remedial technologies are expensive and inhibit the soil fertility as well as cause negative impacts on various ecosystem services. However,phytoremediation is a cost effective and ecofriendly approach,which does not disadvantageously affect soil properties and ecosystem services. The research advances of phytoremediation mechanism and transgenic technology in controlling heavy metal polluted soil were reviewed.
