Abstract

The bacteria with low nutriments are called “oligotrophic bacteria” and belong to the microorganisms inhabiting under the peculiar environment.Five oligotrophic bacteria were isolated and purified from the desert regions in Xinjiang. After studying their physiological and biochemical properties, the methods of cultivating and separating the oligotrophic bacteria are derived, and a series of indexes in physiological and biochemical reactions were measured. It is derived that the optimal temperature, optimal pH value, optimal carbon content in media and concentration of NaCl for the growth of oligotrophic bacteria are 37 ℃,8~9,15 mg/L and 1%~20% respectively, which can provide the new conception and theoretical foundation for researching the microorganisms, inhabiting under the peculiar environmental, especially the oligotrophic microorganisms.
