Abstract
Triglycerides are stored in intracellular lipid droplets in mammalian cells,and there are many kinds of proteins located on the surface of lipid droplets,which play an important role in lipid droplets function,and thus lipid droplets are considered as active organelles in cells.Current evidences support that perilipin,a member of PAT family proteins,wholly regulates the metabolism of triglyceride in adipocytes.Here we reviewed the functions of perilipin in adipocytes.
