Abstract

Soil erosion models are considered as an important method for soil erosion prediction and watershed management along with the increasing emphasis on soil and water conservation and ecological construction,which are hot research topics in soil and water conservation,ecological protection and watershed management.The research progress and resuts of domestic soil erosion models are reviewed in this paper.The theory,method and application of soil erosion and sediment yield models are introduced and the existing problems are also studied.At the same time,the research tendency of soil erosion and sediment yield models is prospected.Finally,the further basic theory and key technology are put forward in developing soil erosion and sediment yield models,including study of the erosion process and mechanism,study of the experimental model index system,design and development of soil erosion and sediment yield models at different regional scales,key technique of soil erosion simulation in scale transformation,study of the application of modern information technique,improvement of the experiment and observation methods for soil and water losses and so on.
