Abstract
[Objective] To investigate the effect of exercise on rats fed with high fat and explore the relationship between visfatin and visceral obesity, metabolic dysregulation. [Methods] 30 healthy Wistar rats were randomly assigned to normal-fat-diet group (ND) and high-fit-diet group (HD). 18 weeks later, half rats of the HD group were randomly assigned to high-diet swimming grou(HS). The HS group was arranged to swim for 6 weeks. Then body weight and body length of rats, blood lipid, fasting blood glucose and insulin were measured. Half rats of each group received insulin sensitivity with Hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp estimation . The visfatin gene expression was measured by RT-PCR. [Results] In the 18th week, the Lee's index, fasting blood glucose and insulin, blood lipid of HD group were significantly higher than those of ND group; In the 24th week, metabolic indexes of HS group such as hyperlipidemia, insulin sensitivity were markedly improved and the visceral fat deposit was significantly reduced comparing with HD group(P 0.01). Meanwhile, the gene expression of visfatin in perirenal fat in HS rats declined correspondingly compared with HD group. [Conclusion] There is close relationship between the expression of visfatin and the visceral fat deposit, metabolic dysregulation, Weight lose by exercise is partly due to the inhibition of visfatin in visceral fat .
